After reluctantly returning to her tourist-trap hometown of Roswell, New Mexico, the daughter of undocumented immigrants discovers a shocking truth about her teenage crush who is now a police officer—he’s an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life. It has only been 20 years since Roswell was a sleeper hit on the WB, so I guess I didn't think we needed a re-boot. It hadn't occurred to me just like I never thought we needed another version of K-Mart, but Wal-Mart seems pretty popular. Back to the show, so even though it wasn't on my list of TV projects to make if I ran Hollywood, I am so happy they did. Even though the story might not always seem fresh, it is apparently a story I love and NEVER get tired of. It seems we should always have sexy aliens from outer space on TV. It is also surprisingly easy to care about alien orphans who are just trying to survive on their new home world. I have no issues with the cast. They are an interesting collection of guest stars and supporting actors who are getting their chance at stardom. At the heart of the story, there is also romance, another aspect that is always popular with TV viewers. In this case, the lovers are separated by their shared history, misunderstandings, hostile family members, and other external forces. Will their love survive? Will they get together? All these elements are successfully woven together in Roswell, New Mexico. The creative team has done their part so now the viewers just need to show up so we can enjoy this show for at least the next five years.
