While some narrative choices are less satisfying, they don't diminish the value of a film that remains an emotionally devastating, compelling journey into the heart of a man torn apart by life. It's an imperfect but powerful story, one that deserves to be seen and discussed with the same passion Aronofsky pours into every project." Rating: B+
